What’s new in Horizon Europe

The planned novelties of the Horizon Europe Framework Programme starting in 2021 were presented at a national event in the frame of a series of consultation events in EU Member States.

The aim of the new Framework Programme is to enhance the implementation of the open science principle and to monitor more closely the impact of the projects. It is planned to spend more resources on Widening actions aimed enabling a better participation from the low R&I performing countries. In addition, new support measures are planned such as the possibility of joining an existing consortium (hop-on scheme), the blind evaluation in certain areas and the organisation of ex-ante evaluation of proposals.

Enhanced Dissemination and Exploitation (D&E) and better support is also planned: dedicated web interfaces will be developed to present project results funded under the Horizon Europe (Horizon Results Platform) and to stimulate their market uptake (Innovation Radar). Emphasis on continuous reporting on D&E even after the end of the project is also important for decision-makers.
